********* BASIC CABLE TV SETS: ACTION IS REQUIRED! ********
The transition from analog to digital has happened!
YOU MUST RE-SCAN YOUR TV!!!
You will be missing channels!!
How Do I Re-scan My TV?
If your TV connects directly to a coaxial cable, rather than to a piece of cable equipment like an Entone box, you WILL need to run a “Channel Scan” or “Auto Program” on your TV. This will detect all available channels 2 thru 99.
Press the “Menu” or "Settings" button on your television or TV remote control.
Depending on the make and model of your television set, this option may fall under “Broadcasting,” “Channels,” “Tools,” or other similar categories. Consult your owner’s manual to find exactly how to reach this feature.
Select the “Channel Scan” or “Auto Program” or "Auto Channel Scan" feature in your television’s menu.
Don’t be alarmed if this process takes a while to finish. Depending on your television set and how many channels are available, it can take up to 10 minutes to complete.
• If your TV doesn’t get these channels, you will have the following options:
OPTION 1. Upgrade to Expanded Basic Cable*
Expanded Basic is ONLY $5 more than Basic per month. Monthly box rental is $5 per box per month. Extra channels include: Discovery Family, Science, Fox Business News, ID, Create, 30 HD channels and 50 Music Choice channels.
*BVC INTERNET IS REQUIRED.
OPTION 2. Purchase or Rent a Converter Box from BVC
Rental fee is $5 per month per box, or purchase for $95 each. You will need a converter box for each TV that is not equipped with a digital tuner. Pictures of remote and box on our website and Facebook.
Pick up your converter box(es) today at our office or Call 570-247-2512 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule a drop off.
OPTION 3. Purchase a New TV with a Digital Tuner
Go to google and type in: TV with digital tuner to see model options and where to purchase. We recommend you buy from a retailer with a good return policy, in case your new TV selection doesn’t work or you are unhappy with the purchase.
OPTION 4. Do Nothing and Continue to Receive ANALOG Channels 2–13
We are keeping channels 2 through 13 temporarily for TV’s that do not find the new digital stations. These will be the only channels available in analog once the transition to digital is complete. You will be notified in the future when analog service will no longer be available. Please see options 1, 2 and 3 above for permanent viewing options.
Please call 570-247-2512 with questions.
